At Chadstone yesterday Susan and Bryony came across an exhibition of paper dresses. Apparently these were popular in the late 1960's, but such disposable items became unfashionable. The way paper draped meant that only one style of dress could be worn.
As give-away items like t-shirts can be, many paper dresses were part of the promotion for events and causes. This made them colourful and short. Paper dresses have great imaginative potential - maybe they will come back?
