Every year during the Labour Day weekend Melbourne has the Moomba Festival. Because we normally go hiking for this long weekend, we miss the festival. A commitment at church, holds us in Melbourne this year. So this and particularly warm weather encouraged Susan and I into Melbourne last night, where we enjoyed wandering around the Yarra river. To our delight, we encountered a fireworks display.
It started subtly with red flares, and then introduced more colour.
Of course there were sky rockets.
And it finished with a thoughtful use of the smoke to create different textures.
Modern cameras make recording such events much simpler, but I'll not complain.
